What to Do at EPCOT
Rides / Attractions
Epcot offers a unique blend of education, innovation, and entertainment through its diverse range of rides and attractions. Divided into two distinct sections—Future World and World Showcase—Epcot presents a multifaceted experience that celebrates both the future and the rich tapestry of global cultures.
Future World welcomes visitors with a collection of attractions that explore technological advancements, scientific discoveries, and imaginative concepts. Spaceship Earth, housed within the iconic geodesic sphere, takes guests on a journey through the history of communication and innovation. Mission: SPACE offers an immersive simulated space mission experience, while Test Track invites visitors to design their own virtual vehicle and then test it on a high-speed track.
In contrast, the World Showcase introduces guests to a vibrant celebration of cultures from around the world. Each pavilion represents a different country, offering a glimpse into its architecture, cuisine, and traditions. From the serene beauty of the Japanese gardens to the bustling streets of the Morocco pavilion, visitors can immerse themselves in a global tapestry of experiences. Attractions like Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros in the Mexico pavilion and Frozen Ever After in the Norway pavilion provide engaging entertainment that transports guests into beloved Disney stories with cultural twists.
In recent years, Epcot at Disney World has undergone a series of ambitious renovations aimed at enhancing the park’s guest experience and modernizing its offerings. Notable updates include the highly anticipated attraction Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, which shrinks guests down to the size of a rat for a whimsical adventure through Gusteau’s restaurant in the France pavilion. The park’s centerpiece, Spaceship Earth, is also set to receive an updated storyline and enhanced scenes that reflect the theme of storytelling throughout history. The World Showcase is welcoming new pavilions and attractions as well, with the upcoming addition of a Moana-themed attraction and a transformation of the Mary Poppins area.
Food
Epcot’s food offerings, similar to the rest of the park, celebrates diverse global cultures. From quick-service eateries to upscale dining establishments, Epcot caters to a range of preferences, with some of the best food among the parks in Disney World!
The World Showcase, a highlight of Epcot, features an array of pavilions representing different countries, each hosting restaurants that offer authentic dishes from their respective cultures. Visitors can indulge in classic fish and chips at the United Kingdom’s Rose & Crown Dining Room, savor the delicate flavors of sushi at Japan’s Teppan Edo, or experience the heartwarming Italian fare at Tutto Italia Ristorante.
Future World also contributes to Epcot’s culinary landscape with a variety of dining options. The Garden Grill Restaurant in The Land pavilion provides a rotating feast with a side of character interaction, while Coral Reef Restaurant, located beside a massive aquarium, offers seafood delicacies accompanied by captivating underwater views.
Additionally, the Epcot International Food & Wine Festival, held annually, elevates the culinary experience with a global showcase of flavors, allowing guests to sample dishes from around the world. When we visited Epcot, we had just missed the annual festival. If this is something you would enjoy, be sure to plan early and book far in advance!
